JAWS

2010 Events Calender

JAWS is committed to providing an interesting and varied events calendar for our members, whether it is simply ‘out for a blast’ visiting some of our unique offshore attractions or simply to enjoy the social scene. During 2010, we are also running several interclub events allowing us to show off what Herne Bay and JAWS has to offer.

All launches will be at Neptune, unless otherwise stated – see attached link   Click Here

Overnight camping is available a short distance away – see attached link  Click Here

The events calendar will be kept updated and events are subject to sea conditions. Insurance is compulsory and must be shown on the day.

If you wish to discuss any areas, please feel free to contact the JAWS Committee via the PWC website Click Here

March 13th or 14th

Desert Island BBQ

A unique opportunity to ski out to Margate Sands sandbank. At low tide it is one of the largest sandbanks covering 1 square mile and regardless of conditions provides excellent waves on the turning tide for wave jumping. BBQ on the beach a game of cricket and the customary Pimms (it wouldn’t be the same without it !) and if we are lucky will see the basking seals.

LOW tide:      14th - 10:09am @ 0.5m
                    15th - 10.53am @ 0.8m

Launch at:     14th - 9:00am LATEST
                    15th - 9:15am LATEST

Due to the tide depths and gradients of the sandbanks, the tide moves in very quickly, it is therefore essential to meet the prompt launch times to enjoy the day.
