Herne Bay and Whitstable Jetski and Watercraft Society (J.A.W.S.) are a group of sea sport enthusiasts dedicated to having safe and responsible fun off the Kent coast.

JAWS are based along the shoreline that Canterbury City Council looks after, from Whitstable to Reculver. We have a good relationship with the foreshore team and work with them to ensure a safe environment to ride in.

We were officially formed in Jan 2003, after months of planning and research. Sixteen people turned up at the initial meeting, travelling from as far as Milton Keynes and we had many more people enquire by mail and on the Jetskier magazine forum.

Why join? There are several very good reasons...

Membership of Jaws will help to keep us on the water along the Seasalter to Reculver coastline. We have a good working relationship with Canterbury city council foreshore management. We also aim to work closely with the local Water Safety committee and other interested parties.

To give us a voice where required - a focal point of contact for local council, foreshore staff, coastguard and other agencies.

To get discount - yes you can easily save the cost of membership on one purchase at
ShorePlay or The JetWorks, more outlets coming soon.

We organise trips and have a load of fun, cruising out or a spot of wave jumping in a group is a lot more fun, and far safer than going out alone.

Membership is from March to Febuary - The committee members ski all year! The cost for 2010 is £35 for new members(£30 for excisting members) all paid up members are entitled to a 50% discounted parking at the Neptune car park
